Dollar Coins and $2 Bills
Some of you may know about my strange habit of paying for things with $2 bills all the time. Why do I do it? I think it’s a great bill, and we should be using it more often in general. But mostly I do it because I like the reaction I get sometimes.
Well now I’m on to my next legal tender mission- getting people to actually use dollar coins, instead of the bills. I got used to using the $1 and $2 coins in Australia, and liked the fact that the smallest bill denomination is a $5 bill. It should be the same in the US.
And now the new George Washington Dollar is missing the “In God We Trust” on 50,000 of the 3mm coins that were issued. Unfortunately I don’t have any of these, as they are now worth about $50 each on eBay. But I have made a goal to remove all $1 bills from my wallet, and only pay with coins instead. I’m still waiting for the day that I get change in these coins…
